Save Aravali

Their is a news on Times of India website that government is going to recover amount of rehabilitation from offenders. It is really good if government successfully recovers amount of rehabilitation from the offenders who created havoc in this area for the own individual interest. But it is a known fact to local peoples that most of these mines are under the command of political leaders and main source of income for them. Due to political power in their hand i think it will be not possible for the government to recover the amount from offenders and later on matter will thrown in to cold bag.

But even now if mining is stopped and environment laws are enforced strictly and rehabilitation project are implemented on war scale then we will be definately able to save the environment of Aravali Hills. Also all the existing residential / commercial / industrial set up in aravali are must be forced to take measures to stop the pollution generated by them. Also some environment tax must be imposed on all the setup existing in aravali hills and additional charges must be imposed on new projects asking permission to operate in these hills.

Mining in Aravali Hills

Today I read a news in Hindustan Times about Partial Mining Lease in Aravali Hills okayed by Haryana government in Faridabad and Palwal area. Lease will be given to Private players for a period of 7 to 10 years. and the same may be extended to Gurgaon including Mewat area after Supreme Court permission.

I just want to say when mining will start it will definitely affect our environment so did the government had made some provision/plan/guidelines to save environment or the exercise which will be carried out for calculating the impact on nature/environment and how the same will be cured. I think heavy environment taxes must be imposed so that environment tax money can be used for planting of trees, re-originating natural water resources, giving re-birth to wildlife etc.

Moreover as we all know that all the parties involved in mining for this area are powerful peoples (politicians/bureaucrats/corporate) and these all have the knowledge about means & ways for illegal mining, I mean that they do mining of 10 kg and pay for only 1 kg. and every party involved in it have their commission from top to bottom against the same.

A report for re-structuring activities of environment carried out by different government departments in last decade against the impact of mining during the same period.

At last in one sentence I will say "MINING SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED AT ANY COST."

Rape of the Aravalis: Photo blog 2:Random Access:Rajesh Kalra's blog-The Times Of India

I am agree to the author's view that when mining can happens during the ban period how it will be as per norms after opening of ban. We all know the role of corruption and money power.

As per my view mining activities must be stopped immediately and anybody found guilty must be punished in strict way (financial as well as physically).

If we will go against nature we will led to finish of human creatures on this planet.

Save Aravali Hills Environment

The oldest hills of this planet the Aravali Range is affected from human activities like stone crushing, cutting of trees in forest area of Aravali, construction on large scale, mining, dispense & dumping of waste. All these activities are very dangerous for the environment of Aravali and its surrounding areas environment.

Due to too much constructions in the area like farmhouses, societies/colony/bungalows in gurgaon, faridabad the environment cycle of this area is totally imbalanced.

Some of the famous lakes/water sources like Badkhal lake, Dhauj Jheel, Surajkund Lake, Damdama Lake on the aravali range had gone dry in last five year. All these lakes are famous tourist spots and source of income for locals but now all these lakes are totally dried because of illegal mining and change of pattern in the natural drainage system. Natural drainage's are dumped with waste material which affected ground water flow. The only source of water for these lakes are rain water and it is not reaching them because of blockage in natural drainges. Ground water recharging is badly affected due to drying of these lakes. Even the Central Empower Committee (CEC) which is empowered with satellite imagery shows that some of these lakes are full last year. some of these lakes are used for water sports and now they are like drought hit land.So mining process needs to be stopped on urgent basis in this region to save the forest and aravali hills environment. Drying of these lakes also indicates that in future ground water will be not available in this area if the relevant steps for recovery are not taken. If we start restoring the natural process it will takes at least 2-3 decades to show the result.

In view of coming commonwealth games government authorities must work on war scale to restore environment in and around these lakes as they could be great tourist spots for visiting foreigners during the Commonwealth Games 2010.

Also we all are aware about issue of Global Warming which is clearly dangerous for all human beings on this planet so lets plant more and more trees, spread awareness to save environment, stop anti environment activities.
