Goods & Service Tax (GST)

GST implementation has completed 3 months in India and government is pushing many efforts for smooth functioning of it but traders all over India are protesting against it, may be due to slowdown and problem arising out of money demonetization. The fall down in GDP growth has given a chance to political opponents to speak against GST. On the part of government the failure of GST Website, technical issues, other issues had created a situation of harassment for GSTIN holders. The HSN code wise details, stock details, bill wise details for retailers and small shop keepers is really a big problem as they have to invest too much time in record generation, maintenance and keeping.

I think the government must push some computer and IT experts to solve down the issues faced by taxpayers in filing of GST returns and number of returns which needs to be filed every month should be brought down to single return per month. Tax may be collected every month via GSTR-3B and other complete details may be submitted by taxpayers on quarterly basis as it will give time to government to deal with IT issues and ease down the problem of traders. The step will definitely improve GDP and improve businesses.

The recent incident of killing of a small primary student of Ryan International School at Gurgaon again raised questions about loopholes in private educational institutes. The private institute employs fourth class staff without taking proper measures to earn profit. Private schools charge heavy fees in name of good education, providing world class facilities, security, communication etc. but the result is zero.
Their CCTV cameras don't work, they don't provide timely information to parents, they don't hire employees as per norms, but just thinks and operate to achieve maximum profits. Generally private schools hire lower grade staff like guard, sweeper, driver, conductor, gardener, peon etc. at very lower rates instead of hiring competent persons and generally these are very underpaid and have terrible working conditions.

In last decade even the working condition of teaching community has gone from bad to worse. Government gives lot of benefits to private educational school/colleges for betterment of society but in reality the money is going in the pocket of personal peoples through wrong ways or by making manipulations in system. Private schools never take care of complains of students and parents but pressurizes the parents and students to stop complaining. Even sometimes they use unfair means with parents.

Private education is highly commercialized and being carried out in country only for sole purpose of big profits.

Some big decision is required to change the private education system either through taking them under government control or imposing more strict rules and norms for them. They must be put under regular screening. Students, Parents associations are must be part of scrutiny process and grading of private institutes must be set for them.
