TREE PLANTATION VERSUS FIRE CRACKERS ON DIWALI

TREE PLANTATION VERSUS FIRE CRACKERS ON DIWALI

Image result for diwali firecrackers

Deepawali or Diwali the festivals of light has come. Everyone will celebrate it in their own way. Old age or senior citizens will spoke to their counterparts and elders or matures will meet and exchange gifts, sweets with their relatives and friends. The youngsters will celebrate the festivals with shopping, party, bursting crackers and enjoying with their friends. Between all these things we forget about the waste generation in form of packing material, consumables and smoke generated due to bursting of fire crackers. The Hon’ble Supreme Court has fixed the timings for bursting of fire crackers, in addition to this I think that some kind of environment maintenance tax must b imposed on fire crackers so that the tax collected could be used for betterment of environment.

Also all of us should start a new trend of exchanging and planting a tree before or after Diwali at their garden or at some other location so that we make reimbursement to nature of our self part. The same may become a part of our culture and tradition so that the coming generation will start learning it from their childhood itself and planet earth will be safe for coming generation of humanity.

TAKE CARE OF PLANTATION

Every Year all over the world lakhs of tree plantations are done and many programmes / functions / seminars and other activities carried out by Government and Non Government organisations to spread awareness about environment and increase plantation. The important questions is how many trees / plants survive out of total plantations and what are the reasons behind the non - survival. One of the important reason is total negligence of their after take care or in simple words just plant a tree and forget it. It seems that tree plantations programme is organised only for the purpose of pump and how. Just have some photographs while planting a tree, circulate it in media, gain some popularity BUT NO ARRANGEMENT FOR TAKE CARE OF THE PLANTATION DONE. It is not important to do so many tasks with half heart but do one task with full energy and complete it. In other words instead of spending thousand crores on plantations a part of above funds may be kept and spent on take care of trees planted.

Their must be some kind of analysis / report / survey and accountability must be fixed that who is responsible for DEATH OF PLANTED TREES.

If today we will not save trees tomorrow we will be not able to live on this planet our mother EARTH. Already we have lost many good things which we got from trees due to cutting of forest and development race. Many ayurvedic medicines, fruits, flowers, strong wood is not available today because these things died with DEATH OF TREES of above species.

Now slogan of SAVE TREES, PLANT TREES needs to be updated and expanded to SAVE TREES, PLANT TREES, TAKE CARE OF PLANTATION.

Thank you to all the readers for going through above article.

Please come forward to give more ideas to implement and solve the above mentioned problem.

TREES

Trees are important part of our environment, culture and for our life. In our country India we offer prayers to many trees like banayan, pipal etc. but in past few decades due to effect of western culture we not only stopped offering prayers but the focus of society for plantation program is on trees which grows faster and have been brought to India from western culture. For banayan, pipal, neem and other Indian trees are not only best for long time as they give too much to us in the form of life, shadow, coolness, etc. Neem is the best antibiotic tree commonly available in neighborhood when we are child. Pipal is a common tree found in every temple and people offer water it regularly. Nimboli of neem and barbantas of banayan are still alive in my memories. Here I request the Indian government to save Indian culture government must start planting these trees in government schools, colleges and other plantation programmes. So many initiatives to save environment is being taken and plantation of indian trees must be part of the government agenda. Too much of blank land exist in green belts, government schools, colleges, universities, government offices, hospitals where many programmes are organized for plantation programmes. Government nurseries must start development of new breed of above mentioned trees which offer some commercial benefit also to the peoples and grows faster so that common peoples automatically motivated towards the planation of these trees. Trees are part of our culture, we must save our culture. We must teach our children’s importance of these trees on environment day and take them towards our Rich Indian culture.
At last SAVE TREES, PLANT TREES HAVING LONG LIFE, SAVE CULTURE.

Environment in Residential Areas

When you are traveling on a two wheeler and cross some area which is full of trees do you feel some pleasure of coolness and freshness and feel uneasyness in the area where industrial waste is dumped. In residential areas we don't have much number of trees especially the old and congested part of every city and these areas are polluted becasue of pollution by general regular activity of human beings and also these old areas host some small industries.

An initiative is required in this direction to improve the number of trees and reduce pollution by new scientific methods. Some examples may be created by government in their own staff quarters which can be further replicated for general areas.
